Finally, Someone with Real Experience – Sarah Palin

Let me start by saying that I have not decided yet who I will vote for in November.  But I did listen to Sarah Palin’s speech last night and was pretty impressed with her.  She came on strong, and yet she still seemed like a real person to me.  I know there are people all over the media screaming that she doesn’t have enough experience to be the VP, but on one critical issue that I am concerned about, she has more experience than any other person being considered. . .Abortion.

I am sick to death of the men in politics discussing this issue like they have a clue.  Finally, we have a person running for office who was faced with the abortion issue and had to make a decision.  Finally we have a candidate who has had to ask and answer the tough questions and deep emotional issues that come with a “woman’s choice.”  Whether you agree with her stance or not, you have to appreciate the fact that this woman is not just picking her party’s position and supporting it, she has “put her money where her mouth is” so to speak.  When faced with the fact that her unborn child would have special needs, Sarah Palin continued with her pregnancy and did not abort her child.  In my mind, it is irrelevant if you would have done the same.  The point is that she has real experience with this issue and can speak authoritatively on it.

So when it comes to the abortion issue, I have to put a check mark in the box for McCain/Palin.

  1. Yes, but keep in mind that her authoritative stance on the issue is that women in America should not have the same CHOICE that she had. She had the right to choose, yes, and she chose according to her beliefs–which is up to her. However, she wishes to deprive everyone else of that same right, the right to choose.

Nobody running for any of these offices REALLY have experience, because they haven’t been in those positions yet. The issues themselves are much more important.
